Overview

U.S. military veterans can benefit from special programs that were established by the Veterans Entrepreneurship Act, legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1999.

Veterans Business Development Corporation

The National Veterans Business Development Corporation, doing business as The Veterans Corporation, is a federally-chartered 501(c)(3) organization that was created by the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999. TVC is charged with creating and enhancing entrepreneurial business opportunities for veterans, including service-disabled veterans. The board of directors is appointed by the President of the United States and provides governance over TVC. TVC provides veterans with the tools and resources they need to be successful in business, including:

  • Access to Business Services
  • Entrepreneurial Education
  • Surety Bonding
  • Insurance and Prescription Coverage
  • Veterans Business Directory

SBA office of Veterans Business Development

The U.S. Small Business Administrations Office of Veterans Business Development. OVBD is dedicated to serving the veteran entrepreneur by formulating, executing and promoting policies and programs of the agency that provides assistance to veterans seeking to start and develop small businesses. Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the SBA’s SBA's Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative for veterans and members of the military community wanting to establish or expand small businesses.
