SmallBusiness.com: The free small business resource
Jump to: navigation, search

Hi, I'm new to this way of working so.... I've got a couple of questions -

  • Can files maintained on wikipedia or yellowiki recide within their group commmonly?
    • Can I write a user profile once and all three applications can use that file?
    • Can I Link images from wikimedia to yellowiki?
      • Can You help me perform these task, if they can be done?

My Answer

I believe that anything you do with Smallbusiness.com needs to be within Smallbusiness.com, and as far as I know that goes for any other sites using wikimedia software. If another wikimedia site contains information or files that you would like to use on Smallbusiness.com, I'm fairly certain they are fair game (it's part of the rules for using wikimedia software). For the most part, however, these are separate and distinct sites, and have no affiliation outside of the use of the same software.

About smallbusiness.com and other wikis

I have an answer for that one. Today (and this will likely change in the future), the username and password for Smallbusiness.com is unique to it -- While we use the same open-source software, we have no affiliation with the other wiki projects you mention. In the future, there is the possibility that several wiki-type projects will support a system of usernames and passwords that can be used on multiple sites. With certain things enabled on your web browser, that will mean that you don't have to sign in an out of all of the different sites using different user names and passwords.

Again, we are totally owned and managed separately from all other wiki projects, however, we cooperate and work with some other projects.
